I realized this past week that a lot of you who read this don't even know what I do at the MTC all day!
We start every day at 6:30am. We have study time in class from 7-8, breakfast from 8-8:30, Gym from 8:30-9:30, personal, language, and companion study from 9:30-12:50, lunch from 12:50-1:30, study from 1:30-2:15, class from 2:15-5:30, dinner from 5:45-6:20 and class from 6:30-9:30. Then we go back to our residence at 9:30 and have to be asleep by 10:30.
And we repeat that Monday-Saturday. Sundays we have classes and church. AND we get to walk to the Temple! This time, we threw leaves :)
In class we basically do some really intense language study which I love. Our teachers, from day one, only speak to us in Romanian and now that it's week four, we're only allowed to use Romanian. Este foarte greu, si, minunat (It's hard, but wonderful!). I feel like I have learned so much in such a short period of time - the gift of tongues is so real!
A major highlight of this past week:
Neil L. Anderson of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles spoke at yesterdays devotional! He talked about how serving a mission is a sacrifice that the Lord will pay back ten fold throughout our life. I got to sing in the choir at the devotional and, apparently, I was on camera a lot. The devotional was broadcast to all the MTCs, so hopefully it looked okay!
If you don't know who Elder Anderson is, check him out here: https://www.lds.org/church/leader/neil-l-andersen?lang=eng
I also received 3 packages this past week! I feel so incredibly loved!! Thank you best friend Cora, my darling boyfriend Michael, and my boyfriend's wonderful family for taking care of me while I'm here in the MTC! Your packages and letters make the awful food and long days so much more bearable. (Seriously though, thank you for the chips, cough drops, and miscellaneous items - they bring me so much joy!)
