Hello Friends and Family!
It's starting to get chilly out here in Romania! It's actually raining right now, which is kind of a nightmare for a missionary since we walk everywhere. However, today is P-day which means it's a day for pants! It's dorky, but taking a break from wearing a skirt all day every day is such a relief.
Funniest thing I was asked this week: Are your eyes real? This sweet older woman saw me and asked if my eyes were real because she couldn't believe that the color was natural. It was so sweet! I'm learning that being blonde with blue eyes makes you stand out very obviously in Romania. People have stopped me in the street and told me I look like a Hollywood actress or like Maria Sharapova. Sometimes they even speak Russian to me assuming I'll understand! I don't, but I'm flattered nevertheless!
I FINALLY got a card reader and now I can send pictures! That's what this email will mostly be since I haven't been able to send any for a while.
So, let's start with our last week at the MTC:
It was so bittersweet to leave all these wonderful people! But, Romania has been an adventure worth taking.
We had an hour layover in the Paris airport....
And then everybody was sleeping!
AND THEN WE ARRIVED IN BUCAREST!
My first few weeks here have been awesome even thought there haven't been many pictures. Here are a few, though:
Morning workouts in the apartment using water bottles as weights. #missionarylife
AND we had a special visitor come to Buc this past week: ELDER BALLARD! I got to shake his hand and talk with him for a bit about how we can reassure investigators that our gospel helps strengthen families even when it may seem that the very information we present causes contention. He had some great insights and it was definitely a wonderful experience talking with him.
And one last photo: this is Sora Koth and I out to dinner with some of our investigators!
If you have a chance this week, please go read this talk by Jeffrey R. Holland about how our words have lasting impressions. It's beautiful!
Anyways, that's all for now! I love and miss everyone!
