Hello, friends and family!
You might think that an hour is a long time to write, but it is not! My first week at the MTC has been both amazing and also heartbreaking. It was so hard to say goodbye to my friends and family, especially hugging my parents goodbye during the "grip and rip" at the MTC drop off. (That's where the missionaries at the MTC grip the luggage and new missionary and rip them away from their family. haha)
Anyways, the first day was good! I met my zone which is made up of approximately 22 missionaries called to Italy and 6 going to Romania. I am in a trio of sisters, or surori in Romanian. They are wonderful! We get along so well. Their names are Sora Torres and Sora Falkenberg. Day 2 was hard, but I can honestly say that I didn't cry at all! I made up for all of that on Friday, though, because I missed my family, was overwhelmed by trying to learn the language without a teacher (no one showed up the first two days) AND the day before I was called as the Sister Training leader on my SECOND DAY. It was crazy.
Then, General Conference weekend came. It was heaven sent. I absolutely loved it and wish I had more time to share everything I loved about it! (The MTC seriously feels so rushed!!!) My favorite talk was given by Elder Russell M. Nelson over the appreciation of women. It was such a beautiful talk about how we NEED women in the church to teach fearlessly, lead with executive power and authority, and help raise the next righteous generation. Lovely. Simply, lovely! You can watch the talk here!
Anyways, I love you all and hope you are well!
All my love,
