Hello Friends and Family!
WOW. This past week has come and gone so quickly. I was able to skype my family for Christmas and maybe, possibly, might have had a little time with my boyfriend too! (Don't tell anyone!) My parents got him on the phone and both his family and my family were able to wish me a Merry Christmas! It made my whole Christmas to get to see their smiling faces! People, never underestimate how hard Christmas is without family. WOW. It's so hard! Everyone go give your loved ones a hug for me! But, in all honesty, I love spending my Christmas here with the people of Romania. They are wonderful and I had sarmale four days in a row! Possibly five if we get some today! *fingers crossed*
I don't have time to write all my stories down this week, but I did find pictures!!!
This is from our blanket activity I wrote about a little while back. It was a huge hit! We are actually delivering the blankets to a girls home tonight! I'm so excited to be able to take them. We made four red blankets (pictured), six black, and four green! It was awesome. The lady sitting in the middle is Irina. She is one of Sora Koth's and my English students. Sitting beside her is Sora Spangler, a firecracker of a woman in her super cute beanie.
BEHOLD, the infamous Sora C! She has a new nickname for me now: Noisy-Child. She is hilarious and she'll never admit it but she loves us! She actually gave me two skirts this past week as a Christmas gift because she says that the skirts I wear aren't thick enough and if I don't look like the Michelin Tire man in a snowsuit and boots then I'll never have children. Obviously. It's like 60 degrees here in Constanta! But, it's the principle of the thing: if it is December, put cotton in your ears and seven layers of clothing on your body. I love Romania! Behind Sora C is my companion/best friend for life Sora Koth and on the far right in the pink is Sora Padgett.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! If you have time, send me a note about your favorite Christmas scripture and what it means to you. As the new year approaches, I have adopted 2 Nephi 31:20 as my verse to help me start off 2016 right.
I love you all! Next time we talk, it'll be 2016 and I'll be 21!
