Family and Friends...

IT SNOWED IN BUCHAREST.

Naturally, we had to take a lot of pictures, so let me introduce all of you to my companion and the sisters in my district!

This is my companion Sora Elliott. Isn't she the cutest all bundled up in her scarf?

And this is Sora Jerez! She and I took ballet classes at BYU together, and now we get to be besties on the mission as well!

nd this is my girl Sora Draper! I love her! She is the cutest. And yes, when it gets this cold, head scarfs and hoods are totally a thing.

Okay! Now that you've met my Bucharest crew, are you ready for the fun stories of the week? I think so...

Eat while I read to you!

In the Mihai Bravu branch, there is this woman named Sora Vasille (in the picture below) and she is adorable! She's probably about 5'1" and is such a little spitfire. She always feeds us some sort of desert while she reads to us from the Book of Mormon in Romanian. I absolutely love her. She gives all of the missionaries nicknames and she has nicknamed my companion "the doll" and she calls me "the beautiful one." (Apparently that nickname is going to stick with me in the branch, but I'll get to that story in a minute). Every time we go visit Sora Vasille she always says "Oh! I'm so happy my doll and my beautiful one came to see me! Now eat. I will read from Enos." Isn't she just the cutest in her little burgundy track suit? Ah! I love it!

Talita's Baptism!

The other sister's investigator was baptized this past weekend! Her name is Talita and she is one of the sweetest, strongest, most amazing people I have met here. She was originally a Jehovah's Witness, but after seeing the movie "The Other Side of Heaven" and coming to English classes and taking the discussions, she said she felt something so different within our church. One year later, she was baptized. Now she's even planning on serving a mission! We can't wait to see where she will be called a year from now. :)

And of course we had to have a little bit of fun at the baptism: Sassy Selfie with the Sisters, pentru ca, de ce nu?

Oh, so you're Sora Savoie?

So, (last story because I have to go soon) there is this woman in the branch named Sora Gorzo. Now, Sora Gorzo knows everything about everyone. Everything. She can tell you stories about missionaries from 30 years ago and she knew who I was before I even said hello. As soon as I walked in the door, she took one look at me and said "Oh, so you're the one all the Elders are talking about? They were right, you are beautiful!" Of course she wouldn't tell me which Elder said that about me...at first ;). I can honestly say that Sora Gorzo is also one of my favorite women in the branch. She's nearly 100 years old and she only knows three English phrases: What's up dog, Hey babe, and peace out homies. She spends way too much time with the Elders. But, considering what they say, that may at some point work to my advantage. Ha!

I love and miss everyone so much! I hope you're all doing well and that your new year's goals are still going strong! Don't ever forget that the Lord loves all of you and that you are all in my prayers.

cu drag,

Sora Savoie
