Sora Savoie's Romania Files | Week 34 | Bye Buc...Hello Sibiu!

Madison Savoie

Dragi prietenii si famila

This week has been crazy! Transfer boards came out on Saturday and I have been transferred away from my beloved Mihai Bravu to the gorgeous city of Sibiu! Leaving Mihai Bravu definitely resulted in a lot of tears. Sorina's baptism will be this Sunday and, unfortunately I won't be able to be there. BUT I'll be able to skype in! Hopefully they'll hold little ol' electronic me in the pictures. That would be great :)

This woman is amazing and I love her. When I told her I'd be leaving, she looked at me sadly and said "but...I prayed that you would stay." It was heartbreaking. However, we then had the absolute best lesson with her about how the Lord answers prayers and she said "You know, this is God testing me. He wants to know if I'm getting baptized because I love the missionaries, or because I love Him. And I do love Him. He has a plan for Romania and for the people here and you, Sora Savoie, are needed by someone else somewhere else to help share with them what you shared with me." That was an amazing moment. It's moments like that that make serving a mission completely worth it; the realization that you and that person have both been changed for the better.

The People I Miss Already

Speaking of people who have influenced me for the better...

These sisters I had the pleasure of serving with in Mihai Bravu are absolutely wonderful! Sora Elliott, Sora Harper, and Sora Schow are some of the most amazing women and I am going to miss them all. Sora Elliott heads home to the US tomorrow, while Sora Schow and Sora Harper are going to keep taking care of Mihai Bravu!

It was definitely hard leaving Sora Schow...

I wish I could just make a collage of all our pictures and memories and share every single one with all of you, but unfortunately I don't think there is an email big enough in the world to send it. I love that girl so much! She is going to continue to do amazing things in Mihai Bravu and I can't wait to hear all about it...and then to room together at BYU as soon as we're home!!

A New Chapter

And, now, let's meet my new companion: Sora Djhanbani!

Sibiu is beautiful and I know that she and I are going to have so much fun! I can't wait to send more pictures next week. Sibiu is absolutely gorgeous! It's exactly what I imagine the setting for a medieval fairy tale to look like. Thus, this transfer will probably be full of magic :)

Until next week!

Cu drag,

Sora Savoie
