Buna dragi prietenii mei!
This past week has been an absolute blur. SO much has happened! For starters, we had our mission conference in Brasov this past week and it was phenomenal. Both President Uchtdorf and Elder Kearon were there as well as the Boom family! (Pictures to come soon! I was able to meet President Uchtdorf and shake his hand and I have a picture of it somewhere, I promise! I just have to find it...)
Anyways, let's talk about some things that happened this past week: President and Sora Ivory spoiled us so much this past week! We toured a castle here in Brasov and then we had dinner at a different castle that was rented out just for us. We were able to have two full days of extraordinary spiritual experiences as President Uchtdorf talked to us about simplifying our gospel understanding; focusing in on the core of our beliefs. He told us the story of how the missionaries found his wife, Harriet's family in Germany. He was so tender and kind as he spoke so lovingly about his wife. I don't know much about Dieter F. Uchtdorf, but here is what I do know: that man loves his wife and he loves the Lord.
Of Parables and Parallels
In 3 Nephi 17 in the Book of Mormon we read about Christ's visit to His other sheep in America. As He teaches, He sees that the people are exhausted and He says to them "go unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand, and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again", but when Christ "cast his eyes round about again on the multitude, He beheld they were in tears, and did look steadfastly upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them." I wish all of you could have been in the room with President Uchtdorf. I don't consider myself particularly spiritual or even easily brought to tears by spiritual experiences when I am fortunate enough to have them, but that scripture became a reality for me as President Uchtdorf tarried with us, spoke to us, encouraged us, lifted us, and then, eventually left us. It hurt my heart to watch him leave. That man embodies everything the Savior teaches us to be and he is a true disciple and follower of Christ. He is called of God. I know, because I have felt that it's true.
And now let's look at some pictures!! :D
I think I sent out a picture with Sora Vann last time, but if not, here is our companion picture from the mission conference! Isn't she radiant? I love her! I'm blessed by her spirit and sass every day here in Brasov. :)
AND NOW FOR SORA SCHOW:
If there is ever anyone whom I have loved with all my heart, it's this girl! I absolutely adore her and am so grateful that she is my best friend. In approximately one year from now, she and I will be rooming at BYU together. CE NEBUN.
Anyways, I love and miss all of you a lot! Until next week.
