Buna Familia mea si Prietenii mei!
Craciun Fericit! I hope that everyone had an absolutely wonderful Christmas filled with love and miracles. I know that we definitely had that here in Romania. We were able to meet up with friends, share the love and joy of it being the most wonderful time of the year, AND we were able to skype our families. I haven't been able to write much in the past few weeks, so let's start off with some much needed updates!
Tea with Jennifer
So, this is one of best friends! Her name is Jennifer and she is absolutely wonderful! We invited her to church and to sing with us in our Christmas concert and she did! She has a beautiful voice and we loved having her with us to celebrate the Holidays. She and Rares (he's not in the picture, but he was there!) are both Seventh Day Adventist and we got to have a really great conversation about the Bible and the Book of Mormon over tea. We gave each of them a copy of the Book of Mormon as a Christmas gift from us, wrapped in red ribbon with a note inside the front cover about how this book can bring a whole new perspective to their lives and how it truly has blessed us in so many ways. It was the best gift that we could have given! We love them and can't wait to see them again when they are back from the Holidays!
Christmas with Sora Anderson
Let's just be real - I LOVE SORA ANDERSON! She has become one of my absolute best friends from the mission. She is wonderful and has such a strong spirit. We started off Christmas by being super domestic and making these jars of hot chocolate...
Sora Anderson and I made such a huge mess in our kitchen that I don't even know how we're going to clean everything up....but it was worth it!! The jars look so cute! The only downside is that we could only find pink marshmallows and blue candy mint things...because I guess Romania doesn't have peppermints and white marshmallows? Oh well! They were beautiful anyways and I'm sure they'll taste great! We've been delivering all of them to our friends, neighbors, loved ones, and all those who just need a little Christmas joy! And sugar.
AND THEN WE OPENED OUR STOCKINGS!
Sora Anderson's mom was the sweetest and sent a stocking over for me too! It was awesome. And my family sent cards and some much needed love to my bank account so it was a very merry Christmas indeed!
I am so incredibly grateful for all the joy and love I've felt this year. Even though I'm far away from home, I have felt so much love and so much peace this Christmas. Which I think is a quality that we sometimes lack with the hustle and bustle that comes with the commercial aspect of Christmas. However, there is so much goodness in simplicity. I love this Christmas quote that I found this morning:
I absolutely love this work. I love this gospel. I cannot express that enough. While skyping with my family they made the comment that I look "beautiful and confident" and I can honestly say that I wasn't always like that. Before my mission I had a lot of hollow confidence and shallow beauty. But, I think that's normal because the world makes us feel like that's what we need in order to be accepted. I have found though that true beauty and radiant confidence can only come from knowing who we are, what we want, and where we stand. I am so grateful that because of this gospel, I've found that in my life.
Merry Christmas everyone! Make the most of the last little bit of 2016. It's been an amazing year and it's only going to keep getting better!

PS - I love my mission president. President Ivory and his family wish you a Merry Christmas as well! :)
