Sora Savoie's Romania Files | Week 66 | Here am I, Send Me

Madison Savoie

Hello Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well! It's been an absolutely crazy week full of things to do. Sora Lee and I...(are right there in that picture below)....

are running around like crazy, but we're honestly having the best time. It's always great to be busy! Especially at this time of year in Bucuresti. :)

Friends at Church

So, do all of you remember the story I told last week about being invited by Rares to his college English class and then being able to teach and having the Q&A with all the students? Well, two of those students came with us to church on Sunday! Their names are Adrian and Alex and we talked to them after and they really liked it. Oh, and Rares came too of course.

Sora Lee and I were able to teach Sunday School this past Sunday when all our friends were there and it was nerve-wracking for me because it was all in Romanian, but Sora Lee made Romanian commentary like a boss. She's a natural. I love having her as my companion! Anyways, we taught this lesson from Gospel Principles about who Jesus Christ is and why it's important that we know that he was chosen as the Savior and Redeemer before this life. And, something that I found that was really cool actually relates to my mission scripture.

For my mission scripture, I chose Isaiah 6:8, which says:

And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man:   Here am I, send me.

And, interestingly enough, this same scripture appears in the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 16:8 -

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: Here am I; send me.

And also in the Pearl of Great Price in Abraham 3:27 -

And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man:   Here am I, send me.

I wish I had time to write about everything we talked about in class on Sunday, but suffice it to say that it was a really great discussion. We talked a lot about who Jesus Christ really is for each of us and how this decision to come to earth was not only a decision that Jesus Christ made, but one that each of us made before this life. We believe that we lived with God before this life and we decided to come to Earth to help fulfill His purposes. We all chose to follow Christ even before this life began, and that's an amazing thought.

Our purpose in this life is not so much about trying to find new answers, but rather to try and remember, through the choices we make, the answers we already know.

Sunday was an awesome lesson. Hopefully everyone will come back again next Sunday! :)

Castles and Comps

And, in other news, we got to go see a castle right outside of Buc today!

See the little one to the right of me? That's my bae DJB! From when I was serving in Sibiu! Ahh! I love and miss her! :)

Anyways, I hope that all of you have a wonderful week! Love you!

Cu drag,

Sora Savoie
